It will be recalled that some time ago Steinmetz, the wizard of power resources, wrote to Babson, the wizard of business movements: “The greatest power of all is in our midst unscratched today. I refer to the spiritual power that comes through right living and worship. Our fathers knew the power of prayer, the economic importance of Sabbath observance, and the need of family and public worship. To this fact America owes its growth. Today this power is temporarily forgotten. Some day it will be harnessed. Then America will be truly healthy, happy, safe.
There is a democracy in this matter. We may differ among ourselves as to our wealth, as to our social position, as to our educational equipment, as to native ability, as to our inherited charcteristics; but in the matter of exercising the greatest force that is at work in the world today, we are on the same footing.
