Tackle the work just in front of you. Strive in an honest way to do the best you can, and if, having done your best, there seems to appear the hand of some over-ruling Power which hammers you, take it like a good piece of steel and come right off the anvil with a better temper and a keener edge.

Who neither labor nor trouble shirks,
Who uses his hands, his head, his eyes;
The man who wins is the man who tries.

My calling to fulfill
O may it all my powers engage
To do the Master’s will.
